Got stopped by the cops
Ok, so I've been commuting from Columbus, OH to Athens, OH on Tuesdays and Thursdays for class at Ohio University. I usually leave around 7:45am to just barely arrive at my 9:10am class. But today would be different.
I'm about half way to my destination and I see sirens behind me. D**n it!! OK, so another speeding ticket with a fine, right. The officer or state trooper or whatever you want to call him takes my license and registration. I'm tapping my fingers hoping he only makes me 15 minutes late for class. But he comes back and says "Ma 'am, your license is suspended. I can't let you drive this vehicle." And I'm thinking 'Just great.' Or more like 'S--t'!! The story is I basically had a ticket from back in July which I paid for I might add. But I paid the ticket late which means I had a reinstatement fee of $15. Yes, I got pulled over, taken to court, car taken away for FREAKIN' $15.
John Legend's new single with Andre 3000
My king of soul music is back with a new album 'Evolver'. The first single is Green Light with Andre 3000 (of Outkast). I just heard it and I love it!! If this is the first single, I know this album promises to be a good one.
My Movie Review: The Family that Preys
So I checked out the new Tyler Perry movie, The Family that Preys, with some friends last week. It stars Sanaa Lathan (Love & Basketball, Out of Time)
famthatpreys as a newlywed and new accountant in a successful construction company owned by Oscar-winning actress Kathy Bates (Misery, Waterboy) and run by her son Cole Hauser (Higher Learning, Good Will Hunting, 2 Fast 2 Furious).
I knew this movie had to be good considering the star-studded cast which also includes Alfre Woodard (Desperate Housewives, Something New) as Sanaa's mother, Robin [where the heck has she been] Givens (Boomerang, The Women of Brewster Place), and the absolutely scene-stealing Tariji P. Henson (Talk to Me, Baby Boy) who plays Sanaa's sister. The movie starts out with Andrea (played by Sanaa) getting married in her mom's friend's mansion (played by Kathy Bates). Despite Sanaa being apprehensive about accepting handouts from the notoriously rich Cartwright family, she doesn't seem to mind accepting a job at their company. Shoot to a couple years later...and the drama begins.
Oliver Stone is making a movie on George W. Bush!
Yes, Yes, Yes, you read correctly. Oliver Stone has finished production on the movie simply titled "W." -- pronounced dub-ya. It is set to hit movie theatres this fall, October 2008 right before the 2008 presidential elections. It is starring Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) as George W. Bush.
Josh Brolin as G.W.B.
Oliver Stone has made movies about U.S. presidents in the past such as JFK (1991) and Nixon (1995).
No matter if you love him or hate him, I'm sure you'll be in theatres this coming October.
Pink's performance at VMA's
OK, the undoubtedly best performance of the VMA's last night was Pink. Just watch the video. I don't need to say anymore.
